GHANA TOURISM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY (GTDC) STAFF UNDERGO TRAINING IN BRAND JOURNALISM

As part of its commitment to enhancing tourism storytelling, the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) recently participated in a specialised training programme in Brand Journalism. The training was facilitated by the Marketing and Communications unit of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS Marcomms) and aimed at equipping GTDC staff with the skills to craft compelling narratives that bring destinations to life.

During the training, GTDC team members stepped beyond their usual roles to immerse themselves in key aspects of Brand Journalism. The sessions covered social media marketing, creative writing, hashtag development, photography, and video storytelling. Through these practical engagements, participants learned how to transform travel experiences, cultural encounters, and hidden gems into captivating content that inspires travelers worldwide.

With expert guidance, staff members explored the power of authentic storytelling in tourism promotion, mastering the art of blending journalism with marketing to create content that informs, engages, and excites.

Moving forward, GTDC is set to deliver more immersive travel content, behind-the-scenes stories, and first-hand experiences that showcase the beauty, culture, and adventure Ghana has to offer, through blog articles, social media reels, and in-depth travel features bringing dream destinations closer to travelers.
