EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF ACCRA AFTER DARK: GTDC LAUNCHES IT’S MAIDEN EDITION OF NIGHT TOUR DUBBED ‘‘ACCRA BY NIGHT’’
The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), under the auspices of the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, unveiled an exciting new chapter in Ghana’s tourism journey with the launch of the Accra By Night, a night-time experience designed to showcase the vibrant energy and culture of Accra after dark.
The maiden edition was launched at the Accra Tourist Information Centre in a colourful event featuring traditional drumming and dancing.

At the High Table, the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts(MoTCCA), engages Mrs Houadjeto, The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Tourism Authority in conversation.
It attracted dignitaries and representatives from key tourism institutions and diplomats from various embassies. In her keynote address, the Honourable Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture emphasized the need to diversify Ghana’s tourism experiences. She spoke on the untapped potential of night tourism in boosting local economies and giving both locals and visitors a new way to enjoy the capital city. The Minister officially launched the tour and took a symbolic walk through the branded tour bus.

After the launch, guests embarked on a guided tour aboard the bus, discovering some of Accra’s most iconic locations. At the Jamestown Lighthouse, visitors learned about Ghana’s colonial maritime history while enjoying stunning coastal views. The stop at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park offered a symbolic connection to Ghana’s independence story, as guests paid homage at the final resting place of the nation’s first President.

The tour continued through the Osu Night Market, where guests were immersed in the sights, sounds, and flavours of Accra’s vibrant night economy. From sizzling local dishes to fresh produce and street performers, the market came alive under the city lights.
