GTDC AND ECOCHEST BIOSCIENCES ORGANISE MAIDEN SCIENCE PARK TOUR
GTDC, in collaboration with Ecochest Biosciences, organised the first Science Park Tour at Grace Gold School in Amrahia.
The event showcased enthusiastic students in pristine laboratory coats, demonstrating basic lab techniques under the mentorship of Prof. Andrew Agbleke, a distinguished science lecturer from Harvard University, USA.

Students participated in engaging, hands-on experiments using specially designed test kits to detect carbohydrates, analyse the sugar content in Coca-Cola, and measure protein levels in everyday consumables. They also explored archaeological findings, with two student volunteers actively contributing to the experiments. These innovative, child-friendly test kits, developed by Ecochest, were designed to make scientific exploration more accessible and enjoyable for young learners.
This initiative highlights the importance of integrating science education with tourism, with the goal of sparking students' interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). It also aims to nurture curiosity and enthusiasm for scientific discovery in an interactive and stimulating environment.

Beyond enriching the learning experience of participants, the Tour aims to boost domestic tourism through family day out to the Science Park, which organisers plan to expand the initiative through media outreach, school partnerships, and digital platforms.
The event concluded with the CEO of GTDC presenting awards to students who actively participated. He also announced plans for a larger Science Park Tour at Efua Sutherland Park, bringing together schools for an even greater learning experience.
Prof. Kobby Mensah remarked "I believe science education should be closely linked with tourism. I hope this initiative continues, helping young learners develop a lasting appreciation for science and technology."
