GTDC VISITS AREAS OF THE PRIME MERIDIAN (Longitude 0º N) in TEMA

The Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC) team, led by CEO Professor Kobby Mensah, visited two extraordinary sites with the Prime Meridian in Tema the Ghana Centre of the World Golf Club and the historic Presbyterian Church on the Greenwich Meridian

At the Ghana Centre of the World Golf Club, the team confirmed the exact Prime Meridian coordinates at Hole 7 and discussed exciting plans, including building chalets, promotional activities like Centre of the World Gold Tournament, recreational spaces, and investor partnerships to boost tourism.

The Presbyterian Church, discussions centered on preserving its rich history and transforming it into the Garden of Peace, a global attraction for visitors and pilgrims alike. Exciting developments ahead! Plans include:

• Repair of the damage Telescopic View Points for the Prime Meridian line and adding Virtual Reality 3D glasses hence incorporating virtual reality tourism popularly known as armchair tourism
• An Observation Post & Museum showcasing Ghana’s timekeeping history
• Illuminated Meridian Line for a breath-taking night view
• Cultural Souvenirs like branded Bibles & kente sashes
• The creation of tourism desks at the Ghana international ports referring tourists on cruise ships to explore the prime meridian line and other interesting tourist sites with the Accra

At Hole Seven(7) within the Centre of the World Country Golf Club , where the Prime Meridian passes through the Eighteen (18) Hole Golf course
